He named the ranch after his movie "The mark of Zorro" and planted hundred of citrus trees, acres of beans, tomatoes and grain to feed the 250 head of cattle that roamed the ranch.

The seven acre lake was created in 1928. Fairbanks Ranch today appeals to privacy seeking individuals who enjoy outdoor pursuits.
